Train Smart, Not Hard

Human connection is powerful. Today, we are faced with a community challenge in the form of the COVID-19 pandemic. This new threat challenges us to be creative in how we maintain our social connections and manage our mental and physical health. Exercise is especially important now because it can reduce stress, prevent weight gain, boost the immune system, and improve sleep. And there is power in running and walking with friends, old and new. It extends far past accountability. It comes with motivation, inspiration, and cheer-leading. You start to raise expectations and encourage those around you to do the same. You smile because you know you now have a support network.

The goal of Tulsa Galloway is to help people of all ages and abilities, both runners and walkers, train for a 5K, 10K, 15K, half marathon, marathon, ultra, or year-round using Olympian Jeff Galloway’s highly successful Run-Walk-Run method: run for a predetermined length of time, take a planned walk break, repeat. Jeff’s proven method has helped hundreds of thousands to achieve their goals, injury-free. We also have walking groups!

Tulsa Galloway offers morning and evening coached training opportunities throughout the week, which helps reduce the number of participants at any given workout and allows for social distancing. The minimum necessary to train for any distance is just three runs a week – two weekday runs of 30-45 minutes and a longer run on Saturday. We provide a customized training program tailored to each person’s current fitness level and distance goal. You will run with others your own pace no matter what distance you are training for. A Pace Group Leader keeps the speed slow enough for all members, and enforces walk breaks from the beginning to the end.
